There was a very good hour-long special on British TV last week, by Sarah Raven, the gardener and florist, about the cut flower industry in Europe. She was encouraging people to buy British flowers, which are mostly unobtainable in supermarkets. It was closely argued, and one of the best things I've seen on British TV for years.

Sarah has written a number of useful and accessible books about growing your own cut flowers, how to condition them, and then how to arrange them. At least one of them has US zones

I look foreword to your ideas. The challenges that the small florist have are almost identical with the small garden center.
