Saw your article today in The Seattle Times and enjoyed it very much. I've been using most of those methods for decades but I'm constantly looking for new ideas to maintain my organic garden. I did have one suggestion about the ladybugs though. When brought home, put them into the refrigerator, NOT the freezer. Then, in late afternoon, water your garden (this will provide your ladybugs with an ample supply of water - they will be very thirsty). Release your ladybugs into the garden at dusk, taking care to protect them from predators by placing them under broadleaf plants or other locations where they will be safe for the night. I think you'll find that most of the ladybugs will hang around for the summer.
